I guess its a common problem around Latin America. Here in Colombia is the same deal. However as the digital stores start to get better and Internet connections give us the chance to download a full game in a few hours, retail started to act less like idiots.

Asian media does this type of "pixel" censorship, black boxes are smaller in asia. Western countries use bigger boxes and bigger pixels and usually cover even butt-cracks. Asia does it this way even in ecci mangas. It has nothing to do with stereotypes but everything to do with media practices.
