I also loved how dramatic the music was as the soup made it’s way to the Duke! The tension almost reminded me of the scene where the Titanic hits the iceberg in the film, but with....soup. There is definitely a camp aspect to the show that adds to the entertainment while also being well balanced.

As evidenced by this article and the comments this is definitely a film you either love or one that you think is just fine. I’m the latter. I did a full Disney rewatch over the pandemic and it was very middle of the pack for me. Most of the 60s and 70s films are in general not the greatest, even if none of them are

House of Gucci is a mess, mostly because all the leads are performing for totally different films, but it’s thoroughly entertaining. I feel like a shorter version the solely focused on Lady Gaga’s character would have been much more successful because despite a weird accent (that’s consistent, at least, so you get

I always felt a little bad for him that despite all he contributed to A Star is Born he didn’t individually win any major awards for it.

This is a great point. I’m a Marvel fan. I’m caught up on all the films and tv series (minus Loki, but will get there soon) and I had no interest in going to the theaters to see this, especially after the poor reviews. And I actually really liked the first film and loved the two series the other Marvels come from. But

Oh god. Rent. That film is an embarrassment. I love the show (though I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea), but they failed so miserably in the adaptation that it’s almost impressive. While I understand why the wanted to use the majority of the original cast they were all too old to be playing early 20s by the time

RIP Jezebel and godspeed to the writers and staff. Ever since they shut down Splinter and turned off comments on Deadspin/The Root I knew it was only a matter of time until they took out Jez.

If you were genuinely Crystal Jewell then thank you for some of the most deranged laughs I’ve gotten on the internet.

Same here. Over a decade of commenting and it’s a gut punch that it’s all gone in the blink of an eye.

they didn’t put any of the mean girls musical songs in the trailer because they’re all bad hope this helps

I saw the original cast on Broadway on Mean Girls Day. Tina Fey introduced the show at the beginning and everyone in the audience was in pink. It was a super fabulous evening in the theater. Is it a great show? Not at all, but it’s very fun show with some great songs, though your mileage may vary depending on how much

Unfortunately the law that was passed in Kentucky included a provision that the replacement the governor appoints would have to come from a list of candidates that the Republicans put together.

It’s already happening:

I’m old enough to remember the polling that showed there would be a red wave ahead of the 2022 midterms.

So a sketch of Ivanka?

He and his wife look straight out of the Prime docu-series Shiny Happy People about the Duggar cultists.

I thought back to 2000, too, when Katherine Harris purged nearly 200k voters from the Florida rolls. Bush “won” by 537. If you have the stomach for it the Max documentary 537 Votes is a fascinating (and also wildly infuriating) look back on what happened.

He’s worse. He just wears a suit jacket.

He’s more concerned with the forecast in Fort Lee than the city.

I loved him in Revolutionary Road. The film is often overlooked when discussing both his and Winslet’s careers, but while it’s all rather bleak they give fantastic and intense performances. And they have incredible chemistry. Michael Shannon is a standout, too.
