Nope, it was DC that ended up telling them to change the Charlton characters into new ones because they were worried the characters would become too associated with Moore’s dark version and so harder to sell in mainstream comics. If not for that, he still would have used these characters.

Yeah, but it’s also kinda hypocrytical, since Alan Moore has done a lot of stuff with other people’s characters too, including Watchmen being originally intended to be the Charlton comics characters. Read more

The MCU wasn’t really the MCU as such yet, it was simply a wink and nod at the Fox X-Men movies and Raimi X-Men films that the viewers were familiar with already.

To be fair, Gerrera is a bit of a special case since he was originally created for the canceled live-action series Star Wars: Underworld.

I don’t think she was that bad, but I can also see how to Meyer, who co-created the character, she wasn’t *his* Saavik.
