Using the Sam’s Club card for gasoline gives me 5% back (NOT 5 cents per gallon) on any gas purchased ANYWHERE, up to 5000 gallons. The money is in Sam’s Cash, but it makes a difference as I do plenty of shopping at Sam’s Club.

And the near-daily CPR to keep the old guys who remember how to make these alive.

I don’t consider RV manufacturers to be OEMs. As for the Colorado lights, I’m wondering if there’s some brightness limit they’re staying under to keep them road legal?

I’m all for shitting on Tesla any day of the week, but this is a non-issue. Light bars ARE illegal for on-road use. No OEM even offers them. Off-road focused vehicles do come with the auxiliary switches for them, but the purchase and installation is up to the owner. 

But did you do a “Tesla job,” or an actual good job?

A key difference being that my dashcam does not mysteriously turn itself off before I go all Leroy Jenkins on someone.

I can’t count the number of times where something mildly insane happened to me and I later on wondered why the hell I didn’t do X, because obviously X would have been clear and reasonable thing to do, rather than Y, which was either somewhat useless or completely counter-productive. I like the VW guy willing to ignore anyone saying they have had not VW problems as simply being lucky, but not willing to entertain the idea that the bad VW experiences he has had may just be him being unlucky.

The key is making it mandatory, top to bottom. No one feels singled out, no stigma attached. In nearby Chicago, it couldn’t cost more than they’re paying out for police bad actions.
