I took my daughter to a local convention (at her request I also had to costume up). She was some Minecraft streamer, I bought a blue TOS Trek shirt and a mock Tricorder. Was the oldest person there by like 20 years easy (I’m 50). Favorite question “how did you get the gray color in your hair to look so natural? It

funny thing is people our age should have a ton of characters to pull from, lots of mentor characters tend to be in that range. and lets be honest, the kind of spike in currently nostalgic pop culture that everyone is remaking was from when we were kids, so we know the stuff.

Is it any different than prostitutes, escorts, Maison Derrieres, and strippers? Socially stunted men have been deluding themselves into thinking they have a real relationship with women that have absolutely no interest in anything other than their money for as long as men and women have been interacting in social

She uses her body to make money hand over fist and invests it in business ventures that will outlive her youth and allow her to retire young, all without having to touch even a single simp.

And also a console that has sold like gangbusters, and whose software constantly has high attach rates and sales numbers. I’d guess the number of players emulating a Switch is like a fraction of a percent at this point. Plus, isn’t Denuvo (or other similar DRM systems) usually quickly cracked in pirated releases

I was hoping they’d be intact ,but contain pictures of Edo Period tentacle porn prints .

Every time I read something about Sierra I remember they existed and get hit with a wave of nostalgia. I have so many early gaming memories tied to their stuff. I think KQ2 was the first PC game I ever played.

Public Service Announcement:

Comparing the sale of Sierra to not shooting Hitler is...a little much.

There is something righted in my gaming Universe to hear that Roberta and Ken are creating again. My first Sierra gaming experience was in ‘86 with Kings Quest 3, when my four year old son and I played the everloving shit out of it. It was how he learned to type and spell. We still quote it to each other ‘Gwydion, I

He’s also the man who brought in Daryl Gates to replace Jim Walls in the Police Quest series, so he maybe doesn’t have the best decision making skills.

I can’t help but wonder how totally different the video game industry would be if Ken had listened to literally everyone he knew and trusted telling him not to do what he ultimately did and make that deal with Forbes.

Now playing

Ken and Roberta Williams’ Sierra were not only limited to those adventure games. Half Life wouldn’t even exists without them. Almost the entirety of western game publisher giants now owe their existence to them.

Kings Quest, Police Quest, Space Quest and Leisure Suit Larry. What more can I say, those games were the pillars and the cornerstones of my budding love affair with video games. I’m looking forward to playing Colossal Cave and would love to see some sequels to those beloved classics as well!

Fallen Jedi is a fantastic game, Dragon Age is still highly loved and Titan fall 2's single player is regarded as the greatest single-player campaign shooter of all time. EA should be more mindful of their accomplishments.

Nintendo’s idea of sales for their triple A titles is 49.99 to 44.99 lol. Ten years later 39.99. They’re the greediest game company on earth. All their first run triple A titles should now be $19.99. Ya greedy bastards!

Because money. Planned obsolescence is a real thing and companies would rather you buy an all new product rather than let you keep the one you have with whatever fixes you can tack on.

Which is dumb, because the smart devs would buy the good mods and make them part of the game itself.

I’ve never understood why game companies are so against modders.

Eh, this is what I’ve come to expect from games journalists these days. I mean, perish the thought that someone calls out Russia’s war crimes without the old “But-but-but what about what the US has done in the past?”
