Holy shit, it's been so long since I've seen this movie. I definitely didn't know The Wire even existed last time I watched it. I still can't believe I never made that connection.

I haven't watched the video, but the one I came across that made me laugh was:

Honestly, that's what I like about it. Just mildly interesting concepts, probably pretty stupid, exactly the kind of thing you would think briefly in the shower before having your mind wander off to something else.

At that point he just became another non-sequitur/punchline machine.

haha, because you have basement in your name

Yes, thank you.

Honestly that's a better joke than the one Amelie came up with.

I've finally grown a bit tired of two of my three favorite albums from last year, Random Access Memories and Yeezus, but Sunbather by Deafheaven (the third on the list) is still getting regular rotation. Great stuff, best listened to extremely loud on a stereo or other sound system (not headphones).

I've stopped hating spiders altogether over the last few years. Now I just think they're awesome.

Your camera.. has a shitty phone?

"So that’s what the synchronized electronic voices of five living Barbies shouting into a tin can sounds like."

Dune still gets a pass from a lot of people just because it provided an outlet for Lynch's weirdness. As a die-hard fanboy of the book series (Frank Herbert has no son) and even as a huge fan of Lynch, I hated it.

If anything, it seems like Perry’s touring potential would only diminish after the show, after all her casual fans catch the few songs they want to see during her seven-minute halftime slot for free.

Wow, no Necrobutcher jokes yet? I'll let someone else do the honors.

I'm still baffled at his performance in the new Oldboy. Didn't he literally twirl his mustache at one point?

Having it be handled via voice-over wouldn't work very well either, because people write notes differently than they write text messages.

I enjoy it when TV shows and movies take the time to actually have their characters compose and read real text messages. The Departed did pretty well with the in-pocket closeups of Matt Damon's texting. That's one of the examples that sticks out in my mind.

Of course that would be more useful, but that doesn't mean we can't try to be respectful in our discourse.

What about being fair to people who suffered or are still suffering through literal slavery?

Nah. Sure, in a strictly literal sense it might be comparable, but the main concept behind slavery is people being bought and sold and treated like property.
