It’s welfare because while you may have paid in for 40yrs even with a 2% rate of return you will have taken out ALL of your contributions in less than 7yrs (in many cases less than 4yrs). And that is assuming you retire as late as possible and were never on disability.

Yep, when I needed a 2nd laptop I just opted for a chromebook instead. Similar price as the Dex but more of a computer experience and independent of my phone. Plus it is battery powered and portable like my phone.
