I’ve been tossing this same idea around. Manual swap an S4 or S6 wagon....

In general I’d say that’s probably correct, Mercedes must have dipped their turbos in liquid bullet proofing or something like that.

A wagon would’ve been awesome but I think a coupe is the next best.

The door bottoms are my biggest concern. Glad to hear to tackled that. Might give me the confidence to try to repair them myself.

Its an ‘81. It shipped with the N/A 3.0 liter and an auto. Swapped drivetrain with an ‘84 300TD.

Fenders might not be a huge effort. Finding or repairing them is probably within the realm of possibility. The doors are the real challenge. The coupe is pretty rare and I think they are beyond repair and finding a set might be expensive.

That’s the thing. Finding doors for a w123 coupe is not an easy task.

Here’s the thing and i’m not one to armchair fly these kind of things. But i wonder if its actually what he did. Its still a serious event, and there are obviously details he left out or are unknown, but... He never shows the view with the engine cut off or the gear being extended. And between him, the mechanic, and Read more

This wasn’t mentioned in the video, but its very easy to reduce engine speed using the mixture control.... like so easy its basically a non-event??
