I feel like I've been seeing posts from Kotaku since the xbone came out about how each update improves the xbone experience. It seems like they are just desperate attempt to try and get people to think the console will magically perform better because some update. Note to users, you're still not going to get native

Well a big problem this sort of technology faces is did you notice how none of the lighting effects changed as he moved about the environment? There's no dynamic lighting because ALL the lighting is baked into the texture maps. They go on talking about their other high detail graphics programs. What they don't tell

We all saw them running all their content on PC's at their demos for both E3 and both the PAX's this year. They're full of shit.

You deliberately took my comment out of context. I said they were forcing them to buy it without reviews. They do a big preorder bonus, and then don't release a review copy so the person doesn't know if it's a safe preorder or not. And I was saying those things like early access and greenlight were good things, though

I personally don't pirate games. I just don't play EA games as a rule, and also the way they released this game seemed designed to encourage people to buy it before they could have any idea what they were getting into, especially since they didn't release review copies.

Mainly I take issue with how EA runs as a business, and I feel that their declaration that origin is a "success" is because people are forced into it via EA's games. They then go on to buy up any relatively successful studio (bioware, criterion, mythic) and ultimately ruin the studios by forcing them to pump out

Well, I think steam as an application is better than origin by a good margin. I also think that valve does consumer positive things through steam, such as the steam workshop which encourages user made content like mods. Their sales are also unbeatable. Meanwhile EA still charges $60 for games that are several years

Well, steam balances that with having huge sales that Origin doesn't compete with. So the buyers remorse is lessened in a different way. Though I would like some sort of refund service with steam. Also, steam doesn't install spyware on your computer.

Can anyone blame them for pirating? Not only did they not release review copies so people could check out reviews before the game released (and therefore missing out on potential pre-order bonuses), but the system they have in place effectively extorts people into playing games on their crappy origin service.

I'm not quite sure what she's going for in this discussion. She makes some interesting points that violence towards women is often sexualized, and talks about how it's used casually to paint a scene that is more grim. But that means that we as a viewer find that violence and sexual assault of women is more despicable

Is he? The one the other guy pointed to just looks too dark and blurry to tell.

I'm gonna miss having ganon on the roster.

It's funny that people are talking about competition between xbone and ps4 in this thread. You won't see lighting this good in your consoles till we see the successors of the xbone and ps4. Even if they do manage it, it won't be running at 1080p or 60fps.

There are already laws about stealing and killing. The thing is, have you ever talked to an addict and asked them if the illegality of it was ever an issue? How about non users? The illegality of it is rarely what deters people from using. It's the danger of the drug itself. Here's the thing. It's easier for kids in

First of all I'm not advocating for legal drugs for minors. Things like incest, underage sex/incest, and bestiality can cause direct damage to unwilling participants. For example, an animal by it's nature cannot consent. Furthermore, incest, can cause damage to a third party in producing a child with severe birth

I'm an advocate for questioning authority. Do you really think the government always knows best? There's no paranoia or fear. It's quite simple really. I disagree with the governments claims that some drugs are harmful and/or addictive. Even if we did accept that some of those drugs are harmful/addictive, it shouldn't

Some things just talking about them in China can get you arrested. Easy solution: Just don't talk about things your government doesn't want you to talk about!

Now go and be a good puppet.

Well the PC ports for Halo came out long after the console versions, while Tomb Raider has consistently launched on all platforms for some time.

I like how it's mostly Ubisoft and EA games, and since these are all on PC, it probably has largely to do with the U-Play and Origin services being complete garbage.

It VERY regularly goes on sale for 75% off.
