This is generally not true, unless you’re talking about professional track bikes used in a velodrome. High-end road bikes like the ones in the video will have a 50 or 53 tooth chainring in the front and a 23-11 (if 11-speed) cassette in the back. When shifted in the big ring up front and the smallest cog in the rear

This is way more impressive than some fatty doing the same stunt on a motorcycle. Unlike on a motorcycle, you’re not attached to spinning cranks on a two-wheeled vehicle that doesn’t have brakes. It’s incredibly difficult to clip in and out of clipless pedals when both of them are moving. It’s actually nearly

That was my first thought too. It’s INSANELY difficult to clip in with both feet, while the cranks are spinning. That said, clipless is still easier than the cages, because you can clip in on both sides of the platform (SPD, eggbeaters, frogs etc.)

Just wanted to note that currently gasoline taxes don’t even pay for half the cost of the roads. Most of the funding comes from the general fund and federal grants, i.e. stuff collected throught income taxes. That’s because the tax hasn’t been significantly raised since the early 90s and hasn’t kept up with the costs

Not all carbon fiber is woven equally. High modulus carbon fiber will be much stiffer and more brittle. The stuff in the video looks fairly low-end, probably 20 MSI and 3K judging from the weave (which, by the way, is purely cosmetic). Still, not that surprised from the video.

Couldn’t agree more. Almost everyone I know who’s into cars & motorcycles is also into cycling. The drivers who hate cyclists also tend to hate motorcyclists, and I wouldn’t really consider them anything more than just ‘consumers’.

It’s like magic, I can’t really explain it. It has something to do with the way it wicks moisture and handles it in vapor form. It dries quickly and is naturally antibacterial, which eliminates odor. Take a look at this page here, gives a pretty good explanation. Wool and leather...two of the greatest materials on

Pretty much any wool socks are better than Nike/UA junk. I pay $18/par for Merino wool compression socks (Swiftwick) and they’re totally worth it. Way more comfortable than cotton, and pretty much no odor regardless of how much I sweat. If you do a lot of running/cycling, it’s the only way to go. Try it, you’ll never

slow = safe

I actually prefer the Pursuit Zero over the Aspire. Merino wool is much better at odor control and temperature regulation than the thinner synthetic stuff. Either way, ANY of the Swiftwick socks are better than the Nike/Adidas junk...

Totally agree that this car has aged incredibly well. It STILL looks good to be honest. The only problem with the TL-S is that it’s a FWD car. It would’ve been absolutely perfect if they offered it in RWD or SH-AWD. Can’t say I like any Acura designs since this came out...well, maybe the MDX, but it’s already aging,

Almost all new cars (except Volkswagen), have EDRs nowadays. That said, it’s a reaaaally big hassle to get the data retrieved and analyzed.

I’m all for it. I got into an accident last weekend, and had the EDR data retrieved from my Toyota. The Bosch unit produced an extremely detailed 40-page report that had all kinds of interesting stuff on it. It was only for 5 seconds prior to the accident, but that’s all that’s really needed. The analysis included the

That’s correct. I recently got into an accident and got a forensics company to extract all the EDR data from my Toyota using the Bosch unit. You get about 5 seconds of pre-crash data, but this data is very extensive. The report I got out of my car was 40 pages, and that was just for one accident. There are no privacy

Is there really that much demand for it, to make it a profitable business? I mean, LR killed it off for a reason.

LOL typical fatso coward weaklings on motorcycles. He clearly got all upset that the cyclist is faster and stronger than his fatass, so he had to be a little baby about it. Nothing new here...just another weakling bro who thinks he’s big shit because he’s on a motorcycle — basically anyone on a motorcycle.

Cantilever and caliper brakes are now considered old tech in the bike world, with even high-end road bikes being equipped with disc brakes nowadays. There is NO WAY cantilevers or calipers will beat hydraulic disc brakes in wet conditions or any condition for that matter. They never work as well as disc brakes, and I

It’s ironic that they colonized the entire planet and now they want out of the EU because of immigrants.

Same here, served 8 years in the Army, never saw combat. It was a great experience, but it doesn’t define me as a person.

But you DID respond, and you still don’t get the point that the vast majority of cyclists in the US = also drivers. I enjoy flaunting a status symbol that dummies like you assume to be lesser and “weird” and “horrible” because it’s so absurd that it’s actually hilarious. Did you know those horrible cyclists actually
