You know this is him before every take...

He doesn’t have to regret a thing. He’s Nicolas fucking Cage, OK?

The Naked Gun comes to mind there.  Despite the incredible silliness of the movie he’s in, Ricardo Montalban plays Vincent Ludwig with genuine menace, and it works so well.

I never understood why it took so long for Galaxy Quest to catch on. My sister, brother in law and I went to see it in the theater and we were laughing our asses off.

And like the very tippy top of spoofs, not only does it treat the source material with due respect, but it also takes its own story seriously.

I love when people casually drop stuff like It’s just a touching of all the seven resonators” and you’re given this glimpse of things you never knew existed.

Have they done a reunion/table read at some point? If they haven’t, they should. It would kill.

Galaxy Quest’ is legitimately one of the most fun movies of the 90s. Managed to spoof and parody while maintaining a reverence for the source material. Probably the closest to that ideal of ‘Blazing Saddles’/Young Frankenstein’ we’ve seen since.

Colantoni has had some great roles in some good shows, like Veronica Mars and Person of Interest, but by Grabthar’s Hammer he will always be Mathesar to me.

Colantoni gives probably the best performance of the film, which is pretty amazing given how this features some of the best acting Tim Allen’s ever done (not saying too much), as well as amazing performances from Tony Shalhoub, Sigourney Weaver, Sam Rockwell, Rickman, etc.

“He’s not a cowboy, he’s an actor” is a GREAT response.

Normally, when I read these “so and so shut so and so down hilariously” articles, usually it’s some cutesy thing, not really hilarious. But this one was actually pretty hilarious. And yes, he’s an actor, not a real cowboy.

I’ve lost all sympathy for him. He doesn’t owe us anything, I get it, and it sucks that people are going to continue to be jackasses to him ... but I don’t owe him my patience or respect. Having a prequel to an incomplete story is asinine. I’m not interested in coffee table books or encyclopedia type books that are inc

King’s work ethic is second to none. He finished the Dark Tower saga while he was still on serious painkillers from getting hit by a van, and honestly it shows in the work, but he finished the fucking thing. GRRM is fucking around with prequels and Wild Cards and trying to get a big fucking medieval-looking tower

Oh shut up. The man is a wealthy turd many times over. He does not need your white knight bullshit.

Now playing

My sympathy at this point lies with his editors. There is nothing more frustrating and unprofessional to an editor than a writer who won’t deliver pages. Yes, the creative process can take time, but at this point, it’s beyond that for GRRM. It’s not just that he’s a ponderously slow writer (which he is). He’s clearly

The events that ended the show were not the problem for most viewers. It was the careless lack of setting things up, the lack of connective tissue to make the big story beats feel logical and earned. It felt like someone reciting Cliff’s Notes that they read the other day and remember about 75% of.

Depends on what you mean. The major plot points? Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re the same or mostly the same. The problem with the last 2+ seasons of the show wasn’t those major plot points; it was how they were executed. Dany conquering King’s Landing and ascending to the throne? Great! Her breaking bad and

Martin does have a point

Most prominent among these is, of course, House Of The Dragon, the prequel show that wrapped up filming a short time ago, and which is set to debut on HBO some time in 2022.
