I thought he said Hawk-egyptian people, but either way it’s great.

I have the same peeve and used to scream at the tv for not using Firestorm and having him transmute molecules.
I love that CW does these shows and is willing to keep them running but man, the budget is just neutering the high powered heroes.
Glad she’s getting work. She’s missed on Arrow.
Bullets and bracelets. A favorite game there.
50's suburban Vandal Savage ruled. Probably the high point of the season for the show and him. Other than that he was not so great.
I think it was Hawks and a mishandled not compelling Savage that doomed the first season. I think if both hadn’t been combined it might have worked better but they made two poor choices and kept doubling down on Hawkgirl’s romantic destiny while making Hawkman too obnoxious.
Character rotation can make the show better. M*A*S*H lost virtually every main character and managed a superior replacement and got better. That’s the secret. Get a compelling replacement.
Arrow needs to cull at least 3 characters if not more. It is flat out unwieldy right now. Thea gone is good, I could easily lose…
Gotham achieved greatness when they embraced DGAF and the epiphany was the open air munitions Sam’s Club that clearly everyone in Gotham knew about.
Many networks wouldn’t have given it a second season. The CW is a little forward thinking in allowing their shows to grow and understanding that time shifting is how people watch tv now. The older established networks have short leashes for shows and are still weighting the viewers watching the day of the broadcast…
I didn’t think it was as awesome as you did but it was pretty good. My bullet points:
It’s a trope I always hated.
They ruined Rene this season. He was good!
Mr. Terrific is probably the only one salvagable of the new kids. Dinah has gone too far off the reservation and Rene has had his character ruined. With Colton coming back the show needs to trim a fair number of characters. I’d be ok with Dinah, Rene and Diggle all exiting.
Zed 1 or Zed 2?
I loved him on Arrow for the first half of the season then got tired of the in your face over powered villain he was. He’s a little more sedate here but still fun and a bit more nuanced and though still incredibly powerful he’s at least not being taken down by one guy with an arrow and the power of love.
I could also see Isis leaving, once the totems plot is over she doesn’t add a heck of a lot. But as a low budget hero maybe she stays. However I think she’s a one season and done hero.
I would think so. Plus Caity was celebrating the renewal. For the budgetary reasons JH3 mentioned I can’t see her leaving but who knows. They did design the show to rotate heroes in and out but I think Sara is the linchpin who would remain constant for the audience to identify with.
You are dead on about the lack of use of any hero that requires more than minimal effects. In one way that’s why it’s Sara’s show. It’s a stunt double doing martial arts. I imagine the pre-rendered gorilla, rhino etc. before Vixen does her fighting isn’t a massive outlay either. But poor Firestorm(RIP), Steel and…
I think the amazing part of this CW show is that 12 episodes in Black Lightning hasn’t yet told his entire social circle and people he meets on the street he has to trust his secret identity.
It was like a bit of Gotham bled into Black Lightning.
