While yes this whole thing was depressing, let’s remember that this was a win against the Sad Puppies. I’m not interested in mending fences with reactionary bullshit rightwing white dudes who think “real” science fiction is devoid of asking difficult questions of society. Do they think it was a leftwing conspiracy to

I bet that new movie won’t have a boss cameo from another superspy.

Oh my God it looks like the bastard daughter of Mad Max, Archer and the Dukes of Hazzard.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce you to the Myrka, the worst alien costume from Doctor Who ever made.

Strcitly speaking, nothing goes on. It’s all people talking about what went on or what is going to go on. This is why it makes a great radio drama, but I fear what will happen if they every really make a movie version.

Not really. Marvel has some others, like the punisher or Hawkeye (who is currently my favorite avenger considering Steve Rogers isn't in costume anymore. I like Falcon, but I miss Steve.) (As for powered marvel characters that are current I like Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Ms. Marvel (Khamala Khan), Doctor Strange, my

Huh, I thought of this exact issue as well. Never noticed that they listed Frank “Quietly” in the credits, though. :)

The first time I read Watchmen, the part the part that had me sold on the book was the flashback scene when Rorschach investigates that serial killer’s apartment. The imagery and the silent twist, with its sickening moment of realization, was so powerful to me. That’s my 2 cents, at least.

Love the brief mention of the theme from “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” at 1:45:

Yeah, after Star Trek Into Darkness turned into nothing more than a bad Wrath of Khan remake, the less I hear about this film referencing or paying homage to or recreating scenes from the OT, the happier I will be.

Say what you will about Mann but he gives us great action in terms of texture and realism.

That depends on the type of nuance you’re trying to capture. The range of emotion in Gollum’s face in LOTR could not have been done with practical effects.

I would suggest the final 10 or so minutes of Cowboy Bebop ep. 26, but I think a lot of that was influenced by John Woo.

Woola, from John Carter. He may be ugly but he's genuinely sweet, playful, and cute.
