If the character is supposed to be a good fighter, I want that represented onscreen. If they're supposed to be a good musician, same. Or hacker...it's the show's responsibility to portray that consistently. There's nothing I don't care about in that regard.

I have been raked over the coals for suggesting Modern Family isn't the epitome of racism, of pointing out biases in TV promotional material, or that "matching representation to society statistics" isn't the end of the fight, so I get the "after all" even though I did wonder who thought that on initial reading.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned Supernatural. I *like* the first season (I did only start watching because Jensen Ackles was in it, though) and I think it took so long to show the promise it exceeded—I rate its finest episodes as some of my top ten TV.

Casting SMG would be like casting ScarJo again. Sackhoff might not have the biggest range in characters displayed, but at least she can play tough when required. From the neck down as well as up.

The DVD has an ending where she chooses Hardy, if memory serves. Maybe even one where the boys walk off together—I wonder if the Netflix DVD has extras? It's not like I have to watch the movie itself...

But the premise! Is so deeply objectifying and oppressive and stalkery...and the fact that they made it so they could swap in one of three endings means there's nothing in the movie that leads you to her choice., which is bad storytelling, IMO.

They need to make sure it's set up so they can kick you in the back, for extra motivation.
