If the character is supposed to be a good fighter, I want that represented onscreen. If they're supposed to be a good musician, same. Or hacker...it's the show's responsibility to portray that consistently. There's nothing I don't care about in that regard.

Oh, I'm up to date, no worries. I was on board in real time with every episode.

Oh, I'm still a strong fan of all the seasons (well, three was way dodgy). Just the idea, though, that we'll never have another Edlund episode hugely depresses me. I considered him as integral as Carver, and was kind of expecting him to get a showrunner nod.

No, see, IO9 published an article proving spoilers are good for 100% of the narrative consumers, and it's axiomatic.

I was just wondering if tinnitus counted as a hallucination. Because I have pretty bad sounds in my head right now. But I can't ever remember thinking my phone was ringing and not making a pass for it and seeing it true—I'm the sort of person who gets entranced by listening to her ring tone and is more likely to miss

I have been raked over the coals for suggesting Modern Family isn't the epitome of racism, of pointing out biases in TV promotional material, or that "matching representation to society statistics" isn't the end of the fight, so I get the "after all" even though I did wonder who thought that on initial reading.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned Supernatural. I *like* the first season (I did only start watching because Jensen Ackles was in it, though) and I think it took so long to show the promise it exceeded—I rate its finest episodes as some of my top ten TV.

Edlund, get your ass back to Supernatural. They need you.

I'm actually disappointed in it. I don't think it's lived up to its season one promise. And I ended up watching the last episode twice because I didn't remember anything of it, and just ended up trying to tear my hair out about the sheer randomness of it all ("Do you know another mantra?" — that's not a mantra, that's

But you didn't give it one!

Casting SMG would be like casting ScarJo again. Sackhoff might not have the biggest range in characters displayed, but at least she can play tough when required. From the neck down as well as up.

Well, it does help that SMG can't play physically (psychologically she was much better at) dangerous to save anyone's life. 7 seasons, and no one thought to teach her to hold her wrist straight when punching the bag? I suppose Slayer Power prevented her from breaking, but still...

The DVD has an ending where she chooses Hardy, if memory serves. Maybe even one where the boys walk off together—I wonder if the Netflix DVD has extras? It's not like I have to watch the movie itself...

But the premise! Is so deeply objectifying and oppressive and stalkery...and the fact that they made it so they could swap in one of three endings means there's nothing in the movie that leads you to her choice., which is bad storytelling, IMO.

They need to make sure it's set up so they can kick you in the back, for extra motivation.

But aren't people more attuned to their own offspring's cries? Most of the parents I know are more inured to random babies than the non-parents.

You're really hung up on their being no overlap between gay and traditionally masculine, aren't you? If you just admit some gay guys are, what are you arguing about?

Actually he says "masturbating with a magazine", and paper cuts

How do people usually get off with dirty magazines? I'd allow for ambiguity there.

I don't see a case made for ass kickinger at all. She's just standing there. Is her outfight more lethal? The look on her face? The weapon she's not wielding?
