There’s some on the way back machine if you search for Clashtalk. Not really a good start for the new overlords.

Is she new? I know you’re higher ed, so she may be trying to find a mentor and just lacks the social skills. If that’s the case (or she just needs a social outlet) you can direct her to some of the campus women’s faculty/mentoring clubs, whether she is looking for a more seasoned mentor or can be one herself to a

Supposedly this originated elsewhere - not Tommy Lee’s words; he’s just reposting them. Makes a little more sense to me that way.

My grandma taught me my first curse word when I was 6. “Damn” and “that son of a bitch” were her favorites, to be interjected loudly and animatedly in the conversation. She scandalized all the other old ladies in the assisted living facility. (Grandpa did NOT approve of her swearing. Clearly his disapproval did not

GOOD JOB! I’m so glad you went through with it. You have a diagnosis, treatment, and treatment plan - which is much better than an anvil of “what if” hanging over your head.

Haven’t heard the on line. “Borrow me” was super common (Dutch). “Learn me” was also used when they wanted to be taught. “Could you learn me how to do laundry?”

I think it might be a British English holdover? My husband and his relatives (Western European) all use that phrasing. It’s how they were taught in school.

Minnesota certainly has its own regional language. (Duck, duck, Grey duck?! ridiculous!). The other thing I noticed is that it’s acceptable to end sentences with “with” by itself.

Hey, I had a well-rounded education. I learned to square dance, country line dance (to the tush push!) AND polka.

What’s with your mom’s friends/business partner trying to guilt trip you? If they are concerned she could hurt herself, they should not “take you out to lunch” to discuss it. Telling you was fine - if they were seriously concerned but unsure of what to do, tell you what there concern is in the initial phone call! The

Absolutely gorgeous. It’s part of the “Golden Triangle” (sometimes called “Golden Circle”) of the three main tourist attractions in Iceland. Skogafoss (waterfall) and Gullfoss (Iceland’s Grand Canyon) are the other two. The whole country is gorgeous - sometimes it’s just the stark, barren lunar landscape, and

Thingvellir(Þingvellir) is awesome! I hope that is one of your stops. You can hop from one tectonic plate to another. It’s also gorgeous. Historically, it’s less awesome. It’s where they drowned adulteresses (men were hanged). It’s also where the first government convened.
