I completely agree with you regarding Ghostbusters and your other points above. I think its the inevitable backlash with focusing on things from the past as opposed to taking more of a chance and developing something new.

This make sense - Amazon has no real buzz around its programming other than maybe Transparent and thats been fairly negative recently given Tambor’s situation. Having a critically acclaimed genre show to build around could help them especially with their LOTR show thats currently in the works.

I love history, but there is just so much content on the Greeks, and Rome, and European Medieval era. Does anyone have recommendations on predominantly non-eurocentric podcasts that touch upon the history of say Africa or Asia?
