As a car-audio AND technology freak for more than a decade, that move is like 2-years late AT LEAST. Aftermarket stereos are way behind current OS technology. Just like cellphones, aftermarket stereos (at least medium to high end) should be running a real OS made from a real tech company, read: Google, Apple, MS etc.
