Can we sue Peter Thiel for being an asshole?

Narcissist’s Creed ‘apologies’ -

I miss Gawker every day. Seriously, it’s still bookmarked on my chrome browser, I can’t bring myself to delete it. :(

Go fuck yourself dwayne.

**rubs me the wrong way**

Uh, also can you call it an apology if he never, not once said he was sorry but did find a way to talk about how admired he is twice?

Kinda pregnant!

Maybe we can take a moment to think about, and thank, the dear departed Gawker and how they exposed all these bastards years ago? I remember reading about everyone from Cosby to Louis CK to Weinstein, Spacey and Byan Singer there (and a whole bunch of others I’m probably forgetting) and they were right on every single

Also, he tries to somewhat justify it because he asked first?? Uhhh if you ask and the person says no, but you pull out your dick anyway, then that doesn’t make it “consensual.” It just confirms that you assaulted them.

I would say “as good as it gets” probably doesn’t include waiting until there’s a NYT story (featuring your representatives denials) about it.

It’s like when Lindy West talked about rape jokes, essentially saying that as long as the joke is on rape culture and not the victims of rape they are fine. She got a lot of rape and death threats. Then Patton Oswalt said the same thing and people are like “So brave, let’s listen to him.”

I don’t get the PRAISE for this apology that I am seeing here, there and everywhere on social media. CK issued a good apology because he was already outed, after years of gaslighting the public about these “ridiculous!!!!” claims and maybe blacklisting a woman comedian who said they were true? Fuck all that noise.

Except he never uses the word sorry. Remorseful, yes, but not “I’m sorry.”

Except for the “somewhat consensual” part.

A hefty FU to the multitudes of Gawker/Jezebel readers who flooded my comment a year or two ago angry because I said this guy’s brand of anti-sexist anti-racist comedy was itself sexist, racist and not particularly funny. I believed the rumors from the start. Also, as a man myself, believe me when i say C.K. is a

The power I had over these women is that they admired me.

The fact that he’s smarter than your typical abuser and better at crafting an apology designed to curry favor with the masses than most doesn’t make me any more likely to forgive. Quite the opposite, the calculated quality here makes his transgressions all the more egregious. He should have known better, he did know

Jon Stewart is usually pretty great, but he can be kind of toothless when it comes to holding people he knows or likes accountable. Remember all the waffly segments the Daily Show did when the Anthony Weiner allegations were coming out, asking again and again whether it was really that big of a deal?

Except, are the masses - even Colbert’s audience which probably has its fair share of Louis C.K. fans- really clamoring for a tepid response?
