To be completely honest, after riding the Shinkansen train from Fukouka to Tokyo last week I was not as impressed as I thought I would have been. Sure, the timetables are followed very strictly, but I found the ride to be super uncomfortable and made way too many stops to be efficient. I paid $260 for a 1 way ticket.
