No, there’s nothing wrong with that thought. As the father of two girls, this was my natural reaction.

I agree. However, how do you distinguish between the two in practical application?

I’ll go a step further. If wages went up 2%, and the cost of goods went up 2%, then that would put pressure on housing as well. Meaning, rather than resolving the issue, an arbitrary wage increase across the board would likely accomplish very little.

Don’t worry- within 5-10 years, most of the workers and delivery drivers will be gone, with robots and autonomous cars taking their places.

So, the question is- is there a place for welfare reform that pushes members of the orthodox Jewish community in Lakewood or Ramapo into the workforce?

I certainly wouldn’t put it past most politicians to tweak social or economic policy due to racism.

Something to remember when we have a good candidate in the 2020 elections, and the brocialists claim that there’s no difference between, say, Kamala Harris and Trump/Richard Spencer.

“..We need more globalization. Not less.”

It might be a worthwhile goal to eventually get rid of ICE and Homeland Security once the people of this country don’t see these two agencies are particularly relevant anymore. But, there’s nothing cynical about admitting that this is a long term goal that will likely take at least a decade or more.

And yet, many of the brocialists still believe there’s no real difference between Kamala Harris and Trump.

That’s not going to happen. The Democrats will take a far more humane stance towards undocumented immigrants who have not committed serious crimes. That’s what we should be aiming for.

Like most Democrats, many members of the Black Caucus have problems with Trump that go far beyond economic issues.

Sigh..................he ain’t the first, and he won’t be the last.

The type of protectionism we’re seeing with both the Brexit pullout and the Trump tariffs on solar and washing machine imports rarely, if ever, ends in more prosperity.

“Companies already take part in a race to the bottom, since it saves them money.”

I agree that this should be our eventual goal.

If it’s successful (and, it’s a big if), there could be a race to the bottom on healthcare costs, with more companies pooling and slashing costs.

I usually dismiss ad hominem responses, but I gave you a pass on your first one.

I didn’t call our healthcare “policy” phenomenal, you tired and cynical dingaling.

To be more specific, these three aren’t meddling with our healthcare, per se; they’re attempting to tweak the payment system for our healthcare, something that those of us who are Democrats have been championing for a long time.
