My understanding was always that snow/ice confused the heck out of ABS and left it pretty much useless. Especially when some wheels had traction and others didn't
If it were stationary when they hit it, it would be one thing. But the difference in speed was great enough to create that much damage while hitting a MOVING vehicle.

The angles you can see the wheels at, in a few shots is incredible. I would love to see the engineering behind this vehicle.

I think it's etched in my mind as it was an emergency type situation. Typical B road and I would guesstimate around 60mph, I was fully on the other side of the road by the time I collected it (10% skill, 90% luck). It was pretty well looked after and it had very recent Pirelli P6000's on it as well.
