As others have mentioned, the new movies are like the old movies in the regard, but I’ll also add that TOS had a fuckton of fistfights that were considered ripping action by the low standards of the time, or at least attempts at it (the action episodes tend to be the ones everyone chooses to pretend never happened).

Also, the ST movies have always been more action-oriented than the shows, and even TOS had more action than we remember (mostly because it was scrubbed from the later series and the most action-heavy episodes were ones worth forgetting).
