I liked The Last Jedi and yet I agree with this 100%.

Just another example of why Disney needs a more coherent story telling plan between these movies. I know they will likely play a big part in Episode 9, but there were so many plot threads from 7 that Johnson just didn’t give a shit about.
Good. No one wants to watch that.
I think the key here is that she’s running in Maryland, a state with a massive number of individuals with security clearance or working in areas related to classified information. Beyond political bent, she has to convince people who daily choose not to commit the same felonies she was convicted of, that she is the…
The 2014 Cosmos revival, A SpaceTime Odyssey, was a massive success, and now, finally, it’s getting the second…
Garland said he only read the first book...but that he feels it is a standalone story....so take ether as you will. I’ve taken that as “bad”.
Cocaine is a helluva drug.
“Somehow, a new player-created holiday became a story about conflict, betrayal and the disappearance of an entire civilization.”
So, they invented Thanksgiving?
Sounds to me like they’re leaning into the trope of “you know this character you never heard about? Here’s all the ways she was secretly vital to all those stories you already love. Now you HAVE to like her!”
BINGO....this show would be so much more enjoyable if it was simply after TNG. The technology, the characters would all be free to grow. They boxed themselves into a crowded space and it hurts the show.
This comes from a place of really enjoying Discovery but..
Obviously a Decepticon...
The time has finally come. After waiting 20-odd years (read: my entire life), we are finally on the eve of Black…

Right that’s my hang up as well. There is so much there and so many cool modern day characters that are just.....there....doing nothing. It seems like all the Modern day stuff now is happening outside of the games which is a damn shame.
The lack of modern day story is the main reason I stopped playing the assassin’s creed games. I 100% agree with you. It was the over arching story that brought me back and made me want to play the next one. Not the new one off character or time period for the game. With out that, I see little reason to play. If I just…
Indeed. Glad to see I’m not alone in being disappointed yet again with AC. I love the Victorian era and was so hyped for Syndicate, but then the only redeeming quality of the whole game was Evie’s charms and mild resemblance to Jennifer Lawrence. I fear the same is true with Origins, only this time it’s the setting.…
Great review. I was on the fence about if I needed to get this right away but I think I will wait a little while now. I love the series but if it’s just AC The RPG with not too much modern day going on I’ll hold off for a sale or deal which I’m sure won’t be far away (yay holidays). Thanks for posting the review
I feel like we’re in a minority in that we care about the modern day stuff. I always looked forward to them as little breaks and as a narrative reason for ‘why’ we’re even doing this history stuff.
The mention of the apparent lack of progression in the modern day storyline is a huge letdown for me. I don’t particularly care about many of the individual stories in each game except to see how it all connects back to the real world story. After all the Juno setups over the years, I was hoping we’d finally see…
