I started installing car alarms in 1988. I had a customer with a G-body that came in with a broken steering wheel. It had a new steering column. It had been stolen off the customer’s carport by teenagers and taken joyriding, 3 times. After the 2nd time, he had bought “The Club”. The thief just used the hammer they

Isn’t that way gas tax is supposed to do? Changing to an electronic tag scanner toll road seems like gas tax with more steps. I do understand that the state and federal government miss out on fuel tax from BEVs but I currently see that as a small portion of total mileage and total tax not collected. When Georgia added

I parked cars at a golf club when I was a youth. Driven a few manuals over the years. Honestly the easiest manual I ever drove was a C6 Corvette. C5 is pretty much the same as well. Hardest was Fiat 128.

As a Georgia resident who travels thousands of miles a year OUTSIDE the state, I'd be taxed on fuel purchased in other states and then taxes per mile in Georgia. Yeah, the state has already taken away the EV tax break from the residents. I have a PHEV instead of a BEV now which dodges the EV tax in Georgia. Might be

I rented an Ecoboost Flex once, loaded it full of sound equipment and drove it through the Appalachian mountains. It was impressive and got 13MPG. My copilot and I started calling it the eco-or-boost. I agree that it totally blends and is thusly a sleeper.

Like Mr. Sharkey did 20 years ago?

I commute 40 or so miles a day in a PHEV. I charge at home and for free at work. (L2 AC chargers) I’ve put about 20 gallons in gas in my car since May. I did take a 300 mile road trip this summer but otherwise I commute on electrons. PHEVs really just get it done for most people.

I’d buy a Cadillac EV PLC. I'd even trade in my existing Cadillac ELR.

That’s every Camry. All different shades of silver/grey from almost matching body shop paintwork.

FWD cars are fine. 200hp cars are fine. Not everyone needs RWD/AWD and 500hp.

With really small tweezers?

I’vesaid that to a Toyota finance guy! He was pressing the extended warranty and I stood up, put out my hand and said I didn’t want a car that needed a warranty. He backpedaled so fast...

Can I get a whole category? How about any manufacturer bring back a PLC (Personal Luxury Coupe). I'd take a cushy ride, good torque and modern tech.

I have. Multiple times. It seems the service manager knows what I'm up to. He was actively aggressive toward me last time I was there.

That would put nearly every car dealer out of business. Besides how would the customer get the added value the dealership model offers? /S

I’ve been back to waste their time a few times. Once I parked in their “preferred customer delivery spot” and plugged in my car (the dealer has a customer EV charger). I put on hand lotion and touched every car window in their showroom. I also left messages for the salesman repeatedly from my office phone that doesn't

I tried to order an in demand Wrangler late last year. The local dealer gave a verbal agreement over the phone of “sticker price plus fees”. I asked about the fees on the phone and they seemed normal. I made an appointment to custom order the car. I went into the dealer knowing exactly what I wanted. When we got to

I’ve always tinted cars all the way round until my current car. Living in Florida with sensitive eyes will do that. Never missed a maintenance item. Somewhere out there is a B13 Sentra SE-R with half a million miles, tinted windshield, and regular maintenance (for at least the first 300K or so).

Your ideas are intriguing, I’d like to subscribe to your news letter.

This right here. Could GM pivot from Bolts back to the Volt, or whatever CUV the current market demands? Crossvolt? Voltswagon Cross? Amps BlaXer?
