I scrolled past the gif really fast and had to come back, because I thought “Why is there a giant floating Waluigi head?”

This goes back a ways, since makers started adding polarization filters to screens. My girlfriend’s ‘06 Civic? Can’t see the speed on the HUD or the clock when I wear my darker sunglasses.

Try a different lens color—I’ve had good luck with a blue/”fishing specific” lens (Costa), but it doesn’t block out nearly as much Read more

Unlikely—there is a roux being built here, but it’s milkfat (which is why whole milk is listed) instead of butter, and starch from pasta instead of flour.

Mac and cheese works best with medium-firm cheeses, the bane of the lactose intolerant. I would look into melting salts—Claire had a great sous vide article about Read more

I really like the idea of a cheese plate casserole. I think if you layered it with puff pastry, it’d work amazingly well.

Place a round of brie in the center of the puff pastry sheets and cut around 1/2" around it, set the brie and pastry aside. Using the remaining, now shaped layers to build two (or, if cut in half Read more

I’m just happy they didn’t attempt the fuel door like they did in 2007, which was straight out of the Mitsubishi Eclipse parts bin.

I think we have *almost* enough backstory from Rowling via HBP. The only thing I’m missing is a canonical explanation of what happened in the Sea Cave.

They also changed the batter. I remember getting a 20 piece in an oyster box during the Mulan promotion and skipping the damn sauce because the nuggets were SO GOOD on their own. I was also incredibly sick, because I ate a 20 piece McNugget at age 12.

Pretty much any of the leafier Brassica oleracea members make for a tasty chip. Kale is far less intense work than brussels sprouts, but the sprouts offer a much more satisfying crunch IMO.

Cut the stem end off and cut each sprout in half lengthwise to make peeling easier. Toss the leaves with just enough oil to coat Read more

Once I got a 3H, I never bagged an iron shorter than a 5. I haven’t played in 4 years, I’d really like to get back out there.

No chance I’ve got my swing still. Plus I had switched to tour SW and LW, and a completely new driver with an 85g stiff shaft. I’d have to relearn the game entirely.

I’ve experimented with this quite a bit! I’ve found that the whole grain (like, the stuff that is basically wood) does a much better job, absorbing more moisture and taking longer to stale itself.

I tried apple slices once upon a time, and all I ended up with were fruit flies and apple flavored cookies. Do not want.

Hmm.. 3 vanilla beans for ~$20 is a steal right now. Not many in stock or less than $8/bean. I’ve been wanting to get revenge on a certain meringue for a few months now, this could be the time!

Valerian didn’t make it to either list, and I am incredibly relieved. I’ve only just rebuilt my home theater and I need to know for myself.

Please tell me it underperformed because of what it opened against. I don’t know if I can handle another Lucy.
