Even if the original inventor didn't patent it, that doesn't give Apple legal rights to it. You can't patent something you copied from someone else, even if they didnt' patent it originally. patents are for INVENTING stuff, not copying someone else's idea and making it popular.

to most non techies ALL mobile tablets are iPads. I had a Gen8 Archos and was asked if it was an iPad... it doesn't matter what the detailing is... to non-technies they can't tell the difference.
