This is honestly such garbage. Some fans don’t like cocky ass holes. The default hot take is because they are black. It’s just nonsense. I can’t stand Cam because he is a front running ass hole, who will rub it in your face every time they are winning, but turns into a whining petulant child when they are losing. It

Nostalgia is a helluva drug, but Starfleet would be more creative than the saucer/base/thruster design that 80% of their ships resemble.

I wonder if Ghost Rider’s best friend Jesus will show up? Or if Ghost Rider will threaten children with dragging them to Hell if they don’t wear their helmet when riding a bike?

Yeah. I won’t be watching this show based upon its merits, but due to the barriers that they’ve put around it.

Right now, that would be the only thing I’d want to watch, and no way am I paying a sub fee for one series.

I fear you are probably right on the money.

What if it's the best series yet but gets cancelled, Firefly style?

And then they’ll blame it on fans and lack of viewership rather than the subscription fee?

My expectations are that this show will flop because of the dumb online subscription required to see it.

It looks like Megatron's nipple

Agreed on both counts. I don’t want to know what Ensign Fartknocker in Stellar Cartography is doing, I want to know what the people who actually run the ship are doing.

I think people want the show to focus on the captain, though. The ships operate through the captain. The captain is the hub of everything going on. Focusing on someone else really limits the perspective we get.

I agree but it still doesn’t change the fact that they never really used the idea of a divided crew, constantly used the Reset Button to never deal with long-term consequences, and the nascence that was Neelix, who was the Star Trek equivalent of Jar Jar.

Voyager is leaps and bounds superior to Enterprise

Lower our expectations. A show set in the past but introducing new technology and species.

Meyer did have one piece of advice for a fan looking for assurance that the show would be everything they hoped it would be: “Lower your expectations.”

Also, the Borg are a pretty obvious copy of the Cyberman.

Anyone else ever notice Assignment: Earth was a lot like Doctor Who? Gary Seven was a “mysterious stranger” type of character whose job was to save humanity, Roberta Lincoln and Isis were his companions, and he had a sort of TARDIS that could send him wherever he needed to go. He even used an all-purpose device very
