CURSE YOU MITCH FRUMPKIN, CURSE YOU!!!

Meanwhile in Japan:

Don’t forget when Toyota re-badged the Cavalier.

The Mini Cooper and the Mazda 2 are not cross-shopped. I worked in automotive market research for years - not even in the same buyer set.

Yeah, but that’s an apples-to-oranges comparison.  Mini doesn’t market itself as non-premium/non-luxury.  For other premium stuff, it’s on par.

FYI this looks like a really bad photoshop. My guess is that a dipshit in the marketing department/BMW NA’s agency decided to mix and match locales.  This is despite the fact that literally nowhere in LA or SF looks like this.  New Yorker here and I hate it when OEMs do this kind of crappy photoshopping - you can see

And also that the average price of a new car as of Oct. 2019 is $36,718 (that’s frankly disgusting).  So this is far cheaper than the average price for a new car in the US.

I chuckled, but no not the pizza guy. If you’re curious about that Sbarro - that would be Gennaro and Carmela Sbarro from Naples who emigrated to Brooklyn in the 1950s hah.

Thank you for the info!  Interesting to find out this was a semi-factory effort.  Personally, I prefer the LP400 and LP400S out of all the iterations of the Countach.  I just LOVE those ‘raised’ teledial wheels!

What is a Countach SV?  No such model exists except for a few one-offs by Franco Sbarro (mostly more power and crappy side skirts).

Ever since Mike Simcoe took over as head of design at GM, every design they put out has been exceptionally hideous. Either generic bordering on hideous or purposely hideous.

Don’t forget the factory available supercharger from HPD!

Technically (and I mean technically), you could swap in the TT 3.6 V6 from the Lotus (Open/Vauxhall) Carlton.  So there’s that?

I remember the 1997 parade accident, put one woman in a coma for about a month:

I agree, as I said, someone - that someone is not me.

$9k is pricey for a warranty, but when you consider a car like this Ghibli you’d be all in at $33k - 55% less than MSRP - so I suppose there’s some value there. For someone.

Compared to their old Garmin-based navigation, this is modern at least.

Also, remember that Daimler only has a 5% stake in Aston - Aston calls it a “technology partnership.” Aston mentioned that they wouldn’t be borrowing platforms from Daimler/Mercedes while Mercedes mentioned to the press that they had no interest in sharing their uni-body architecture with Aston Martin (strange, I

The platform is all new and nothing of the uni-body is shared with Mercedes besides what I mentioned above.  This was an all-Aston effort (drivetrain aside).  I get your points and don’t think you’re badmouthing Aston - I’m just providing clarification.  That’s why the DBX spent 4.5 years in development - this

DBX’s platform is derived from the DB11 - if you can believe it.  Same bonded aluminum construction which is not shared with Mercedes.  This does have a Mercedes chassis at all.  The only things that are Benz is the engine/trans and electronic architecture (which is last-gen COMAND).
