Everyone is entitled to an opinion…including an opinion of an opinion. I never said on my comment that my take on this is the absolute truth but I personally enjoyed The Witch immensely because it dared to try something a little different than 95% of the horror films out there.

Well there's plenty of reason to disagree about any single movie ever made in history. Some people hate or don't get The Godfather or Citizen Kane, what's your point?

I also barely watch horror films because most of them tend to be shit, rife with bad acting and excessive gore. I enjoyed The Witch precisely because it has none of these things and it relies more on psychological horror and tension.

I will risk saying that people who don't get this movie might be used to "torture porn" or other types of modern horror films. Like the people who loved The Green Inferno.
