“Although we welcome critical discussion”
A whole bunch of people are going to lose work, and a bunch more work is going to the shitcan because someone has an opinion you don’t agree with. You people are all fucked. Every fucking one of you. Fucked.
Isn’t this a bit much? If every character in animation needs to be played by someone of their respective ethnicity, then I guess we have to recast Bart and Lisa as well?
It’s not helping that the entire reason for Abby’s hatred is because nobody at Naughty Dog decided to research how the fuck vaccines are made.
I do want to add. The GAME itself is great. Like its gorgeous, gameplay is wonderful (and I didn’t like the first one as much as Uncharted), the technical aspects is peak “AAA”, its just the story though. Its so transparent in what its trying to do to your emotions it annoyed me.
Was watching the Jim Sterling impressions video and he was bemused how the game was legitimately fun when it was an action horror game against the zombies, and laughable at best almost everywhere else.
Ehhhhh... I respectfully disagree with the vast majority of this. Especially this:
I hate Abby, and there is nothing that can change that. She can save all the puppies and orphans she wants, I hate her.
Given the general reactions I’ve seen around the net the last 24 hours, I don’t think that’s the case this time. I also don’t think it’s purely homophobes or gamergaters either. The first game resonated emotionally with a lot of people and it’s hard to watch characters you grew to love outright suffering.
“Despite the occasional tilting of this portrait, Spider-Man’s story and world were not a representation of the kind of New York that exists outside the TV screen.”
The Road didn’t set anything back, it was about the human cost of survival, the whys didn’t matter.
Well, The Road isn’t apocalypse fiction. It’s post-apocalypse fiction. I think you have to separate the fiction that shows the world before and after the end, and fiction that just shows the after, because they tend to focus on different things and have a different feel to them.
Most apocalypse fiction is basically frontier fiction. We had western stories, novels, movies, radio shows, and TV series for about a hundred years or so (even farther back if you think of James Fenimore Cooper as “westerns”), and then the genre effectively died out in the ‘70s. For a brief time it looked like space…
The California Condor would be extinct if not for zoos. Instead, it has a growing wild population.
I understand what you mean about zoos being problematic, especially since they were started in an era of white supremacy/imperialism and haven’t always been great about giving animals good environments. But they do do a really important job in keeping species alive that we humans may otherwise have killed off into…
Nailed it.
There will absolutely be games that look like this. There are games now that are 80% of this already.
Wow, I’ve seen some REALLY stupid comments today but you might win the award for the dumbest. Congratulations.
i’m gonna level with you, crisis core isn’t that good. combat-wise, it’s fun, and the stuff that directly ties into the OG, like Zack’s final stand, is nice. the soundtrack’s really good at times. but the majority of the writing is pretty piss, and revolves around there being a bunch of other characters who do the…
