This is factually incorrect. The Kobo uses ePub, which of course, is the most common ebook format in existence, despite Amazon’s proprietary push to keep the Mobi format going. (They renamed it, but it’s still Mobi under the hood)

Kobo has ePub format... that means overdrive works fine, just like it works for any 3rd party ereader that reads ePub format... something that the Kindle does not offer. There may be an extra step in getting on the device, but it works.
