I would prefer permanent standard time to permanent DST. The whole point of the time zones was so the clock would at least come close to matching the sun’s position in the sky, so true noon would be somewhere from 11:30 to 12:30, depending on where you are in the time zone, but with DST, true noon occurs between 12:30…

Honestly, i think the entire planet should just be on the exact same time. This may mean the “time” you go into work is like 13:00, and somene across the planet is 02:00, but in reality youre going in at the same point you were previous to this.

That’s the point. Standard time is just time. It’s what time was before daylight saving time was conceived, therefore standard time IS time. We shouldn’t replace time with daylight saving time. Daylight saving time should just be abolished completely. The entire country should switch to STANDARD time. It’s called standard for a reason. If everyone gets pissed about not having enough sunlight left over after work, then maybe work schedules should just change instead.

AZ has permanent mountain STANDARD time. They do okay with it. Were CA to stay on standard time sunset on June 21 would be 8pm in San Diego and 8:52 in Eurica. Going to Daylight time is dumb. There are 24 time zones. You’re in one. Accept it and move on.
