Great... now every douchebag with a “frost” paintjob is gonna start claiming it’s for performance reasons.

I just hope those 8 miles were from 32 trips down the strip and back.

And even in that group, there were only like three REPUs.

Yup!

Believe it or not, I had an RA29 Celica.  It’s the ONE car I regret selling :(

Say it with me, “LIFT BACK”.

I almost bought a Tangerine Scream FoST with the Tangerine Scream leather inserts on the seats nearly for the color alone.

Alas, I couldn’t stand sitting in the damn thing, so I drove off in a Mazda, which I’m much happier in but much less happy to look at.

Every single one? You’ve better luck than I... or less adventurous in your purchases.

10/10 Slide.
3/10 line through the corner.

Can you imagine the confusion this would cause?

“Why does this Camaro only get the goood engine when you get a manual?! My old lady needs to drive it and she only drives automatic. You know? Luxury! But I’m a MAN and I need HORSEPOWERS. Don’t short me on this, boy, I know you can just dial it up on your little computer

When did a Swedish Flick become a pendulum turn? Or do I not know what those terms mean?

3rd gen MR2 is best gen MR2. And if the ZZW30 had gotten boost or variable valve lift, this wouldn’t even be an unpopular opinion.

I had a 2WD ‘89 Toyota pickup I got for free with something like 275k miles on it. I did some work, drove the pants off, even did some street legal drags. Sold it to a kid who on the first day he had it got a parking ticket and on day 7 did a hit-and-run, totaling the truck.

Moral of the story is always fill out that

In addition, the original (MKIV, anyway) wasn’t exactly a lithe, tossable sports car either, more of a grand tourer than anything.

I’m not seeing how it’s a No True Scotsman fallacy. The question posed isn’t if the car is better with a manual, it’s if it deserves one. Which then creates the question as to what it means for a car to “deserve” a manual transmission. I suppose that could be a logical fallacy in that I don’t believe there’s an

Does it deserve a manual? Is it a truly proper drivers car that will be enhanced by a better connection between man and machine, or does it only ape the sports cars of years past, trading feel and excitement for ease and safe speed?

A Miata deserves a manual. A GT86 deserves a manual. A 911 deserves a manual. Does this?

I wanted “Firetruck” but after that first letter I knew it wouldn’t make it all the way through so I just had them skip to the last three.

Doesn’t it make sense that the Q8 leaves room for an SQ8, and maybe even an RS Q8?  That’s more where I would expect to see a V8, especially in this day that nothing performance-oriented leaves the factory floor without boost.

If you were the type to be, say, a bit flippant about that whole law-abiding thing, one could just keep slowly increasing their speed, and see how fast they can “tow” the tailligator to.

“Need” is an intriguing word to use in that context, can you explain more?

I’m curious because I used to hate the very concept of FWD, but that was because every FWD I had experience with was a shitty econobox. Now I have a speed3, and for a daily drive on public roads, it’s every bit as fun as my MR-S or the Mustangs
