I think it's a little balanced more towards frustrating to me, but granted I've only played a few hours. And I really like permadeath/roguelike games. In games like FTL or Binding of Isaac though, there is loads of cool shit happening from level 1. Here, I feel like I'm forced to spend way too much time cutting down

I didn't even know this was coming out, though I'd caught the singles he'd been tossing out the last few months. Really really good on first listen. This is the album I wanted to follow up Cosmogramma. Until the Quiet Comes has since grown on me, but it's nice to hear him go back to a more upbeat sound. This also

Yes. Listen to them. Listen to them a lot.

When did AV Club start doing like 3 music reviews a week and 12 movie reviews? There have been so many omissions of late (and of course, so much film bloat that it's hard to even know where to start there).

I'll be digging into Shadows of Mordor a lot this weekend, if I have time. I'm not much of a AAA gamer, but it got such good reviews and was praised for so many unique features, that I had to give it a shot.

I need to play me some more PA. Got it in the bundle, and I really liked it once I understood the basics of getting grants, and then fulfilling the requirements. The tutorial doesn't really set you up to understand what you're supposed to do when starting from scratch, though.

Same here…loved Eraser, much more so than Hail or Limbs.

Yeah BSG is very frequently on the shelves at the public library here. And you can always place a hold if you need a season that isn't there

Pirate bay torrents are pretty much always clean if they originate from VIP users. Also, dunno if this is the right thread for it, but I recently switched to Deluge for torrent management. Very minimal client with none of the ad BS that utorrent had incresingly been adding

Yeah, amazing movie. Hard to get people to pick it up, because any summary of it kind of makes it sound boring. But it really isn't.

I think this comparison is very apt, except I disagree with you about both bands' third album and beyond output. The Strokes have managed to consistently surprise and entertain me in recent years, while I can't really summon up enough interest to even listen to this new Interpol record, after the last few letdowns.

Same…have never gotten it despite 140 hours invested. I am physically incapable of beating Mom without taking damage. So I guess any run I did with have to include the Bible.

That sounds suspiciously like the plot for Mortal Kombat...

Yep, immediately skipped past the plot paragraph of this review. Gotta go in clean.

New David Mitchell book…dear lord, I'm going to be all over this. :O

Jeez…I just watched the Louie episode he was in. Which was all about the death of a comedian.

Spoon's greatest curse, like a lot of stalwart indie bands, is their inability to put out bad material. It makes critics a little dismissive when they release good album after album.

You should give Telephono a shot…almost sounds like a different band at this point (one heavily indebted to the Pixies), but still a lot of fun.

It's become a bit overexposed, but I Summon You still punches me in the tear ducts every time I listen to it.

I like Transference a lot, possibly because it doesn't try to be a crowd-pleasing follow up to Ga x5. My only issue is The Mystery Zone, which I strongly dislike. It reminds me too much of I Turn My Camera On, but much more annoying. Every other track on the album is stellar imo.
