I wish I had any faith in that, but the lies and corruption in our government is so starkly evident, and yet - we seem powerless to do anything. They rely on us not rioting. They rely on our protests being legal and peaceful. That way they can continue ignoring us. We’re pixels on a screen.

This is a nightmare. In one of the richest cities in the world, those in power once again have put money before human lives. There will be riots. There SHOULD be riots. We have been ignored too long.

This is fascinating - given I experience dissocia and psychosis (arguable fantasising on a grand and uncontrollable scale), this should make me susceptible to hypnosis, but I’ve tried repeatedly, and don’t seem remotely suggestible!

Wow, I actually can hate this movie more, without even seeing it.

That’s not because he’s an insane rapist. It’s because when you’re disabled, your disability is your *only defining characteristic*. Even when you’re being played by an abled actor, because fuck those actual blind actors, who might have minor on-set requirements, we can’t be bothered with that.

Is it even original, though? It has an abled actor, playing a disabled character as a monster/freak. I kind of hoped we were past that shit, and so did the vocal community of disability activists who have been asking the director WHY for months.

Apologies, you’re quite right - the law appears to have changed after I had moved away from London. When first I did, the requirement for enhanced CRB wasn’t there, so I was really careful to use black cabs. I didn’t realise it had been amended.

This isn’t entirely accurate. Minicab companies in the UK have no requirement to vet drivers, only black/Hansom cabs. That’s why minicabs aren’t allowed to pick you up on the street, they aren’t licensed for that.

What the actual hell is with that promo image? It just looks the cheapest, tackiest, store-bought-halloween-costume, community-centre-am-dram production imaginable! No way would I watch that thing.

Vicious circle - any of us who have had the misfortune to have to deal with MH services/council services/the DWP (or equivalent), is likely to have experienced victimisation, this is just some next level shit. :-(
