Right? It’s like any arguement, no matter how polite or substantive, can be shut down by “BERNIEBRO!”

Right, I mean I have some serious misgivings about HRC, but I know we all need to take it down a notch. We’re all on the same side!
Noted author Michelle Alexander had a great facebook post to that effect today. And Eric Garner’s daughter endorsed Sanders. But instead we are talking about Berniebros! Berniebros! Berniebros! Only racist white guys would dare criticize HRC!
Ugh, I hate that anyone would say that. As a Bernie Sanders supporter, it grosses me out.
I haven’t really either. I do think it’s much less a thing than the media makes it out to be. Obama supporters were described in the exact same way, but does anyone remember that 8 years later?
Respectfully, I’ve always thought that Hillary Clinton’s electibility was pretty questionable. She generates very little excitement, more people hate her passionately than really like her. She has so much baggage, and that hurts her with indepentents, no just hard-right Republicans. I don’t think it’s a good sign that…
It wasn’t the initial endorsement post, it was a post later promoting Hillary. I know some Sanders supporters can be assholes, but I mostly think that’s because people can be assholes.
As I’ve commented to various people, I made a neutral comment on a Planned Parenthood facebook page, not specificially advocating for Bernie, just saying I disagreed with their decision to choose sides in the primary. It was a polite statement. The replies from HRC supporters were NASTY.
Not to mention the Clinton’s crime bill and welfare reform were terrible for POC! And her history of race-baiting in 2008. But no, all Bernie supporters are racist white dudes!
Eh, I made a nuetral comment on a Planned Parenthood page, saying that I disagreed with their decision to endorse in the primaries because it was causing infighting, (which it has!). I didn’t even mention Bernie Sanders, and my comment was civil. I got so many unhinged responses. It’s not just Sander’s supporters.
I’m a Bernie supporter and made a polite comment on a Planned Parenthood facebook page, saying I disagreed with their decision to endorse a candidate. Didn’t even mention Bernie Sanders. I got multipe abusive responses within minutes. Bad behavior is not limited to one camp.
I think the Berniebro thing is largely an overblown myth. Remember when Paul Krugman was complaining about ‘Obots’ in 2008? I didn’t either, until someone reminded me. That’s because it wasn’t really a thing.
I’m just going to share this hard-hitting piece of journalism from my (and former Jezbel EIC Jessica Coen’s!) alma mater.
Eh, she engaged in flagrant race-bating in 2008, when she touted her support from “real Americans, White Americans” and all that BS. Forgive me if I’m skeptical that she gives a shit about this.
I don’t normally make Facebook comments to ppl I don’t know... And I probably won’t again!
I get that. But in terms of economic policy that would hopefully remedy some of this Clintonomics bullshit, Sanders is a better fit. And in terms of racial justice he has better rating from Campaign Zero than HRC, and has attracted endorsements from Shaun King and other prominent black activists. IMHO he is a better…
Somehow I don’t think that if Sanders is president he’s going to sell us out of our reproductive rights, but whatever. Calling PP the Establishment or someshit is a far cry from deliberate race-baiting.
I recently made a comment on a Planned Parenthood FB page, just politely saying I disagreed with their opinion to endorse in the primaries because it was causing infighting. No mention of Bernie Sanders whatsoever. I got called so many rude names from Hillary supporters. Both sides have asshole supporters (because…
And yet she was ready to throw them all under the bus in 2008 if it got her the presidency.
Notice how they’re **always** in before the Bernie bros? Maybe because the Bernie bro thing is actually dumb?
