That’s silly, it’s more like 20k miles.

Well I bought my Gran Turismo because it was in my opinion the best looking car at the time. Although you could make a decent case for the DB9. Unfortunately the constant maintenance - along with the $8k for the clutch - made me run back to the loving embrace of the Germans.
I cannot stress enough how much you don’t want a car with this gearbox. I had one of the few Gran Turismos with the same gear box - a clutch change done right at my (high-end) indy mechanic cost about $8000. Mine had to be replaced at under 25k miles.
Because of the huge distances involved and small population, many firefighters in rural Australia are volunteers that work for no pay. My father-in-law did that for years.
You and I are basically on the same page, except I have a decently high-end detailing place in SF clean my cars for the most part. I used to spend hours and hours getting my cars exactly perfectly clean, I owned several specialized brushes and soaps, and even special brushes for the BBS wheels on my RX7, and Armor All…
I think the operating assumption has to be that if you don’t fix the vehicle (or if there is no fix), at some point - probably fairly soon - you will be unable to register it. If I had one I’d be in line for a buyback.
That’s an awesome deep cut.
I’ll defend your point-of-view here. $130k is a lot of money to a lot of people and way more than the average US or CA family makes in a year.
Nice analysis.
As a big hater of the original Panamera this is damn good looking.
Key difference: that’s *supposed* to look like a fit or a convulsion.
True fact: I looked seriously at a 612 in a gorgeous color combination with the mythical 3 pedal set-up a couple of years ago. I’m pretty sure the first number in the asking price was a “9" and it was only followed by 4 other digits before the decimal. Seemed like a screaming deal, but I’ve always preferred the looks…
I know at least one of those guys lived to be almost 90 years old. (Well, I’m not sure he was one of the guys exposed to radiation on purpose, but he was involved in some capacity that was never communicated.) It’s possible (likely?) he died of cancer eventually but he would have just said old age. He also served in…
Funny, I was sure you lived at 789 Ponce De Leon Ave.
Paperback copy ordered (and a reminder that I should probably buy a Kindle eventually).
And don’t forget Bryant St. headed down to Embarcadero. It’s like the same CalTrans team built both roads.
Can I buy a square on the betting board of “how many of the ones sold in the US will be used off-road in the first year?” Is the square for “1, but accidentally” gone yet?
That B12 is my favorite answer. And vitamin.
My entire ownership of an 1991 850i 6-speed cost me about $22500 a few years ago. Of course I don’t put a lot of miles on my cars, but I did do a few upgrades that are not strictly necessary (Remus exhaust, for example). It’s been driven cross-country several times by the next owner with not a lot of trouble.
