“From the creators of TowerFall” was all I needed to see. That game was sheer perfection, including the platforming controls. Took a little getting used to, but it was super fun jumping around the stages in that game. I see that the platforming mechanics are essentially the same in Celeste, so it should be pretty easy

As I and others have said elsewhere in this convo, the Wii U had enough excellent games to keep just about anyone entertained for years, making the value of the system hard to doubt. You’re speaking hypothetically about something that happened in the past—it did actually get a lot of great games.

And a console being considered a failure has no impact on whether or not buying it is a worthwhile investment.

I almost think the designers did this on purpose behind the scenes purely so they could say, hey, by the way, we have this thing that’s basically Zelda Maker ready to go, wanna release it?

God, that Better Than Bouillon stuff is the saltiest shit in the world. If you follow the recipe on the jar to make stock, it will be saltier than salt water. You’re basically slathering your chicken with salt paste when you do that. No wonder you said the final product was salty.

That’s the thing—I honestly don’t think I play more than like 12 AAA games all the way through per console generation. That might even be a high estimate for me. The Wii U had more than enough excellent games to satisfy my usual level of involvement with a console. Could just be me, though.

Good point about the Wii U not going far enough. The console itself does kind of seem like a stepping stone that they could’ve skipped altogether. I’m talking more about the ecosystem of the console, where the price of the console is justified by the quality of the content, not by the hardware itself. The Wii U screen

I’m probably biased because I never owned a Wii, so the backwards compatibility was also a major point for me. But I would say the best games were Mario Kart 8, SSB4, Super Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD, Mario Maker, Yoshi’s Woolly World, DKC: Tropical Freeze. In my estimation, they were all ≥9/10 games—nothing really

I actually had the one in the trailer, though. In fact, I could probably dig it up out of my parents’ basement, and I should sell it on eBay when the movie comes out.

It’s sad that the Wii U is considered a failure because of poor sales. I don’t think anyone who has a Wii U and many of the amazing games that came out for it thinks it was a failure. It was definitely the best console around for a while in terms of its library of must-play games. As someone who’s not in the video

Yeah I bet you throw a lot of parties.

Other sports do it—water polo, water volleyball, etc.—so this seems like a great idea. Water baseball at Petco Lake.

I can visualize the differences in my head between SFII and SFIII, between GGX2 and GGXrd, etc. Bit harder with SFIV vs SFV. Putting things right next to each other makes it easy, sure.

lolwut

I’d argue that if you have to put things side by side to notice a difference, they aren’t significantly different.

Why do all the characters look like they’re made out of playdough and wearing wigs made out of yarn? I still struggle to see the graphical improvements over SFIV in this game. I wish they’d admit Guilty Gear is doing it right and go back to the 2D style (even if it’s faked with 3D like Guilty Gear Xrd, because the

I don’t think it’s fair to call it a handwave when someone says your concern (which will never happen) will never happen. It’s like when people say to me, “Well what if everyone in New York had voted for Jill Stein because they thought Hillary couldn’t lose?! Then the state would risk going red!” Yeah, not going to

Very few later 3DS titles lack 3D. I can’t think of one aside from Pokemon Sun/Moon. My impression is a lot more people are using 3D now that the “New” models include face tracking. I use it more than I used to.

This is great news. I forgot about this game.
