Ah, yes. The I3 uses something similar. I do believe most (as in 9 out of 10) current ICE/BEV hybrids (plug in or non plug in) are using a setup with the ICE directly connected to the wheels.

Torque steer is caused by drive shafts being of different lengths. Only Subaru fixes that with a boxer and AWD.
