Actually I literally just got done making a 6 hour round trip in a new 328i (gas), and doing between 75-90mph with a heavy passenger and a bunch of crap in the trunk I averaged 36mpg. the dealership I work for had a 535d m-sport that i coveted.. it had a fucking WALL of torque at any given moment, didn’t make a terrible racket (in fact the turbo made all sorts of proper noises) and the ride and handling were lovely.

It kind of bothers me that I can’t take one look at this thing and figure out how it does what it does. I’d really like to study it in person.
