Jeff Bezos’s net worth should have no bearing on these negotiations. If the Wapo editors are getting unfair compensation, then they should argue on that merit. But his personal wealth is not a valid reason to ask for compensation.

Anarchism is not a realistic objective.
They’ll spend themselves into bankruptcy within a decade or two.
“It’s totally nuts, but in a way, you could argue it creates stability”
Redundancy is very important from a deterrence standpoint, but I do think we could probably scale back our stockpiles by maybe 50% or so. Although that would require Russia to do so also.
I understand that, but analogues are available on earth. Volcanic ash has the same rough texture due to lack of erosion.
If the Russians want to spend themselves into bankruptcy (again) over their ridiculous nuclear programs, fine by me.
Almost all modern warheads are “variable yield”, meaning they can be dialed up or down as deemed necessary. As for the number, it’s US policy to have redundancy in case some of the stockpiles are rendered useless in an attack. You also have to cycle warheads in and out of deployment for inspections.
My guess is that he thinks “anarchism” is the same thing as radical leftism. Of course any adult who considers themselves an anarchist has, at best, a very meagre and limited understanding of political philosophy.
What does that even mean? I think it would need to be verified by more than a microscopic analysis. I’m thinking radioisotopes.
He assaulted and injured a sitting US Senator. Assaulting any US government office-holder or their family is a federal crime. I think it’s basically to discourage people from “roughing up” members of congress as a form of blackmail.
I highly doubt her vial is actual moon dust. Notice there’s no mention of moon dust on the signed business card. There’s no mention of any souvenir for that matter (they did have little flags and pins they gave away). My guess is this guy was acquainted with Neil Armstrong and just got his autograph on a business…
I think the issue is opioid tolerance. Most analgesic opioids work on the same receptors, so switching between drugs doesn’t help with tolerance. The main difference between different opioids is potency (and safety threshold). Once you become tolerant to stronger opioids, there isn’t really any other option to relieve…
Doctors have been much more selectively prescribing opioid painkillers for half a decade now. That’s one of the reasons the opioid crisis is so bad, patients addicted to prescription drugs can no longer access them and turn to street drugs.
Yes you are correct. I forgot all about the Polish intelligence work. If I recall correctly, the Polish group were the first to figure out how it functioned, but by the time the war started the Germans had already switched to an altered rotor design. The new rotors had to be captured intact before the code could be…
If you do have a stockpile of mustard gas, the FBI might like to have a word with you.
A lot of very secretive equipment in WWII was known to exist by the enemy, but they didn’t know enough about it to counter it.
“But that’s not part of my birth plan!”
What’s crazy is that the origin of the iceberg is located at about the 7 o’clock position around the pole (as oriented in the map from the article). Until 2005, it sort of just stayed in the same spot. Since then, it’s bounced along the coast, 3/4 of the way around the continent.
As a resident of Caddo Parish, I can say with certainty that this guy is a con man. He may have actually intended to produce a vehicle at some point, but his business plan for the past 3-4 years has been to con investors out of cash.
