Maybe 700 hp through a 1.8 crank and gear box, nothing bad can happen here, right.

At Indy 500 dinner - Alonso “Sato, I wish I had your engine...”. Notice he didn’t say Power, I wish I had your engine. Per Helio, the Honda Motor owned the indy 500 this year.

Look at it this way, Honda is not running a charity for motorsports enthusiasts. I am sure there more than enough Earth Dreams leaders in their management that stick it in the eye of the motorsports types as they under deliver sales results. If this round of cars is not successful, would they be wrong to continue

Something to consider is heat. Turbo engines keep the heat in, and that may their undoing too.

Ps -I want 260 HP from K series Type R engine, not the 1.5 mill

This car is because of Honda’s desire to bring the car in at the mid-20's price range. That means using the 1.5 turbo. I think they also wanted to keep both the coupe and sedan, which means North American production. Using any 2 liter turbo varient solely for the Si in north america is a non-starter if cost matters

Oh, read the book Beast about the Penske Mercedes assault on Indy before yammering that this “racism” never happened before for Germans or Italians. As race day approached, came there were plenty of snarky comments about the Huns, especially when the P51's did a flyover right before the race........

I agree and understand, the casualties were horrific. You have to read some of these books to understand how bad it was to fight an enemy whom even when it was apparent that they would loose would rather fight to their death as long as they could take a couple enemy with them. There was very little honorable surrender

Before people get all sanctimonious, I would encourage all to read the Frie’s book 3rd Down and War to Go. It’s about the 1940 Wisconsin Badger football team members who volunteered for WW2 Marine duty. Men in this picture died in the very brutal and dirty last battles fought by the Japanese in the Pacific. I won’t

Good points, but what I want is something better than my ‘07 Si. The stock stereo and sunroof are requirements, I use mine almost daily in spring and summer and have had one in Honda’s since the 1990's. I want step up, not a step back.....

Because Honda of America hates sticks? The Canada market configurator allows you to build a 6spd touring Hatch, not in the US though.

True, but you can’t get the Si sound system, sunroof, differential and 6 Spd in a hatch. In other words, the Sport is a poor substitute for an Si.

I’ve raced against Chris. He did the right right thing. Not bad for straight into a tire wall at maybe 70 mph.

I’ve had two total brake failures in 33 years of racing. The first I tried to turn and rolled it in the grass, the second was the race in Milwaukee. The thing is generally the track is designed to be most generous to the person that runs straight off with tires strategically located. Every situation is different but I

Yep. Correct on all levels about going in straight.

I like your reply. People think Ohm’s law means twice the voltage half the current. Nope.

That and LED lights and a decent stereo with a subwoofer. In Canada, you can get the loaded touring, in US you can’t.......

And they raced them too......

What? People get paid to crash Le Cars?

But let’s just agree that things may be trending up. We are getting a Type R, and Civic hatch and NSX. Where were they 5 years ago? The Honda we knew from the days of super cheap Yen will never come back. Things change.
