@Powerlurker & @Peter Orosz: I think the point of the bumper gaurds is to protect the bumper when parked, and get put into the trunk(boot) before rolling. Those expensive bumpers are designed for impact protection in a collision, not for use as someone else's method of finding out when to stop before straightening out

Possibly step up using the "couch", then that little shelf by the window? (pictured in the lower right of your crop.)

He's in a 3000 lb + vehicle, armored on all sides. Swerving like that towards a bike is equivalent to attempted murder. Regardless of how obnoxious the bikes may have been to set him off, it's still attempting to kill someone you don't know. Why the bikes even kept going when it started just escalated the issue.

Look again. The mechanic wasn't "holding the tire out" - it was against his hip. He picked it up by the center, set the tread surface against his hip, and walked back to the wall, staying as close to his teammate as was feasible and not get in the teammate's way.
