A younger Superman, because 217 episodes of Smallville might not have covered that thoroughly enough.

Yeah, this is about 90% of my objection to the film as well. There are so many ways they could have gone about it that didn’t involve such a malevolent, all-encompassing failure. Even if I accept Luke’s plea of temporary insanity in pulling his lightsaber on Ben, I can’t get over him making this gigantic mess and then…
I think what Disney and Rian Johnson weren’t prepared for is that many fans, maybe even most fans, absolutely want to be pandered to.
The idea of tackling SW round-robin style (JUST , in fact, LIKE THE OT was) was the single most inspired idea they had for the ST.
Probably because Lucas made the entire OT up as he went along.

I don’t understand what this is in reference to.
Cameron probably doesn’t get enough credit for pushing the FX industry, and particularly digital effects. The Abyss and Terminator 2 were films that really challenged the post-Star Wars ILM to develop their CGI capabilities.
As a middle-aged white guy, I am astonished to learn anyone would even remotely care what any of us wear. I could buy more fashionable clothing, no doubt, but jeans, flannel and Vans have been doing just fine for like thirty years now…

They actually tweeted it. It was made on October 6th, and deleted it after Kanye’s post last night.
That was James Mangold having a laugh.
It’s corny, sure, but the name strikes me as spot on with the Republic serials that were inspiration for the franchise - totally has that Saturday matinee vibe.
Better than I was expecting.
I’d have thought that Coke Zero was the go-to for middle aged white guys, but perhaps I’m out of touch. That said, caffeine-free Diet Coke is basically a brown crayon dissolved in carbonated water, so I really don’t see what the appeal is...
Yeah, it was packed full of that stuff, and they handled it the right way - background dressing rather than an OMG cameo kind of thing.
They’ll start
Don’t get me wrong, I do go back ... because of Nintendo’s exclusives
I think Cameron’s going to pull this off.
Most of what was wrong with Crystal Skull was with Mutt. Even putting aside my dislike for Shia Leboeuf, his character didn’t make the movie better, and the ‘ow my balls’ scene was just cringey as hell.
