It’s too long and players can’t take it? All of the greatest matches I’ve seen are 5-setters, and all the old guys still winning them seem to handle it ok.
This is so disingenuous and misleading, as if Gilbert is alone and the voices of reason are on the other side of the fence. How about Nadal, Federer, Lendl, Borg, McEnroe and the many others who stand by sticking with best of five matches?
The damn thing just ended yesterday, and they’ve already got Eddie Redmayne getting his makeup ready for the biopic?
You really fail to mention a big deal here...each stage has a cutoff time after which riders are automatically DQ’d from the Tour. It rarely comes into play except in the mountains where it routinely will eliminate riders...so you can’t just stay on the bike and make it to Paris. You need to make all the cutoff times…
Couldn’t agree more.

Not so sure about the “hardest group” designation, or the Dutch game being evidence of a curse when they only even qualified by a minor miracle, but to answer the original question: no. They aren’t winning this group over Germany or beating Brazil in the knockouts, so the ceiling is round of 16.
Shhh, haven’t you learned that everything is the current president’s fault? No issues existed prior to the tenure of whoever is currently in office. This is how American politics have worked for centuries.
I think the main thing people here don’t seem to get is that Trump is trying to go into talks and meetings from a position of power. The world needs the US market and he knows it. Would he prefer those cars made in Canada to be made in the US? You bet. And honestly, he should try. I’d prefer to have those jobs in the…
Pepper gas in a break-glass container in classrooms. Yeah, THAT’s not going to end up a part of a number of fights. Not at all.
a good exhaust goes a long way
Can we talk about how Real Madrid had to beat reigning Ligue Un champions (5 out of the last 6 years), the reigning Bundesliga champions (last 6) and the reigning Serie A champions (last 7) to get to the finals, which you’d think Billy might at least mention. Instead this article is full of backhanded compliments.
