You are absolutely right, and in fact I would have loved for it to be a DCT like my Ralliart was. CVT is not the "best" option currently for this platform, but it offers Subaru 2 things; 1-payout in its investment into CVTs and 2-the ability to get real world performance data to improve the CVT for cars like this.

I would love for Subaru to fill the sporty wagon gap, and it would be super easy for the assembly line to do. But the more I talk to and network with car industry professionals the more I learn about how these things are decided. Sales really drive what is produced and how for most products. Many times the pipe

I have a feeling that since the CrossTrek has been performing really well on the sales front that we will not see a wagon WRX. It makes business sense and I think the sedan WRX will have enough sales to keep it that way. It is sad because I would love a WRX wagon, but at the same time Subaru has to keep its bosses

Yeah my Insight has this, I have used it a couple time but it is not as fun as just letting the engine decide RPM's and keeping the car in i-VTEC through a turn.

That equals a 5.4 second sprint to 60 in the six speed manual and 5.9 in the CVT. Yep, CVT wasn't a lie, it's true. There is a "sport sharp" setting for the CVT, which makes the CVT act like it has eight gears. Don't buy the CVT. Just don't. Thanks.

This is a terrible idea, it will totally hurt the car from a weight and MPG prospective. What they need to do is boost the 2.0L and then offer a boosted 2.4L for the SRT model. Save the V6 for the Chrysler 200 based on the Dart, and for God's sake build a freaking hatchback!

My wife is the same way, she is getting a Masters Degree at Chapman University and is maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Yet she just can't seen to grasp clutch in THEN shift. Doesn't matter anyways because I am no longer capable of driving a manual due to now multiple injuries to my left leg.

Every time I see the Veloster grill I see this

They may be a little slow to 60 but get it on a technical circuit and it will teach you the meaning of its name.

Except the non-turbo has a phone off the hook for a lower grill.

I had no idea, thank you for the information. My comment came from the fact that I have read about companies testing and submitting design patents on V6 engines that are just cut V8's. Good to know it is a bad idea though and that angle means a lot to engine power.

The large forward hood intake, the lower grill design, the wider fenders all make it to the production model. Those are elements that have to be modified to fit a production car. Is it close in size, no, that is why the original is called a concept. But they carried over the design really well. I would have loved

A strait 6 will give you a much smoother ride, there will be less vibration from the motor. I owned a 1985 Toyota Cressida with an I6 and it drove smooth even at 26 years old. There are also some power benefits that have to do with power curve but I don't know the details on those. The benefit of a V6 is that it is

The design language is there, I think they did a great job concept to production. It is always 0% to get the concept to be the production car. But as long as they bring in the elements then I am more than happy. From that prospective I think Subaru did a fantastic job.

If they don't go with a retro livery then I will die. I want to see a GT-86 with some throwback looks just killing it on a rally stage.

Ralph, I starred Jalops on either side of your post for making sense, your comment however does not. It saddens me a little, and I hope you understand the immense ridicule that may come your way is entirely warranted by your comment. But also that I am with you on your odd want. If you need a navigator let me know.

Now my Ace and Gary cosplay idea will totally work out! Sweet I want one.

I wonder if this will fit my Insight? I know I would not reach the same HP number but it would make the car way more driveable.

Bisi is the nicest most fantastically insane man in the world and this is just more proof. After meeting him and hearing about the CR-Z he built I became way more interested in Honda vehicles. I love the mad genius that would make a 1029 HP minivan, just my style.

When I was shopping for a car in Jan of this year I was looking for a Civic that was a 2008-2010 with less than 60K miles. I found a couple but they were all over $16,000. I test drove a Honda Insight and liked it so I purchased it after negotiating with the dealer and only paid $15,000 for a 2010 with 36K miles on
