I am curious about how folks in this thread view Joe Biden as compared to Hillary Clinton.

It was interesting to see that Monica Lewinsky said the same in her Vanity Fair piece.

hmm, I can see the pre-video ad on my Android but not the actual video.

apologies if I'm mentioning something you're already familiar with, but you might be interested in reading Julia Serano on this stuff if you haven't already

Yeah, it does suck when we make assumptions about individuals, but I don't think that means people can't talk about prevalence and what it means or doesn't mean and whatnot, y'know? Not that it seems like you're saying people can't talk about it, but just sayin'.

There are comments repeated throughout this thread implying that there is little or no evidence suggesting a relationship between sex work and childhood abuse — which is pretty overwhelmingly wrong. I hate to think that folks reading might be misled by claims that there is only one set of info on this consisting of

What they are doing is concern trolling and forwarding a narrative that undermines the agency of sex workers, women specifically. To claim that most sex workers have been abused is a common mythos used to forward the notion that adult human beings cannot move beyond sexual abuse to make their own sexual

As I mentioned elsewhere in this thread, I would say that there are a bunch of reasonable conclusions that could be made on this topic at the moment, and well basically More Research Needed, but to suggest that there isn't an abundance of research suggesting a link between childhood sexual abuse and sex work is

If lots of women in the porn/sex industry are victims of previous sexual abuse, that wouldn't mean that sex workers are "slutty sluts who deserve it", nor would it equal piling on sex workers. Being a victim of previous sexual abuse is not the victim's fault, not does it automatically make going into sex work "bad".

kickstarter!

Posted this below too, but couldn't figure out how to at you... But anyway yeah, for me it's that she doesn't have her weight over the toe "box" part of the shoe, but she doesn't seem to be in a secure demi-pointe either. So the precarious placement of that foot she's balancing on, plus the fact that she appears to

See, to me that photo looks like she's in the middle of a turn, which really turns up the freak out factor. It's weird 'cause the video itself didn't actually freak me out that much — and it's not like she looks secure en pointe in the video. But that photo just makes me like OMG GET ALL THE ICE RIGHT NOW

Yeah, not high enough on that foot seems like a good way to describe it. It's like she doesn't have her weight over the square "box" part of the shoe, but she doesn't seem to be in a secure demi-pointe either. The precarious placement of that foot, together with the fact that she appears to be in the middle of a turn

Now I'm picturing an alternative ad where they say pretty much the same stuff and show her dancing (not en pointe though). Then later she's in dance class with you. She puts on pointe shoes and is working at the barre, and you're helping her to get over the box (and/or maybe you fit her for shoes first?)

Yeah it's freaking me out just to scroll past it. It's like the split second before a really gruesome injury, aagh!

Wow, this picture from their catalog makes me worry about injuries

So um, you know that was a joking response making fun of myself, yeah?

Wait... did I just self-identify as an eggplant? WTF?

You can eggplantsplain to me all you want.

Dammit!
