Mid 30s here, and I live near a consignment store favored by swanky ladies who buy high quality stuff and then consign it. I swoop in and buy it in fairly good condition at a fraction of the retail price. Sometimes I wonder if I skew a little old/frumpy as a result, but I’d rather skew a little older if I have to

Personal anecdote wars are my favorite kinds of wars. Fight, fight!

Well, except for all the sparrows dangerously muttering “Bastard” at Tommen when he first went to try and rescue Lorus at Margary’s behest.

Now playing

The White Walkers in this episode just looked like regular old dudes with some facial scarring and blue eyes. Not like the White Walkers in the earlier episodes. I guess the difference is that the low-ranking White Walkers tool around shirtless, while their leaders wear leather gear? It just doesn’t seem as cool. More

Anna Camp and the other chick got written out of the show for budgetary reasons, no? At least that’s how they spun it. Was there something more to that?

I have trouble making new friends on the Meat Plane as well.

This might just be me, but I’m not really reading into what is causing the uproar around this quote. To me, this is saying that it is harder to make female friends than it is to find a man to sleep with.

This makes me feel better. I just moved to a new town/ state last year and I am finding it so hard to make friends. I am also a new mother so the whole thing feels like first dates.

Cardigans always and forever. Even in the middle of summer, I will find a way to add a thin cardigan.

Thanks for the suggestions, I know there’s not the same rules around what’s age appropriate anymore but I don’t want to look like I’m trying to pretend I’m younger than I am especially when I’ll possibly be supervising teenagers.

Had to remind me, didn’t you?

For everyone commenting with anecdotes about their Hapa friends/relatives/dog walkers/random persons: NOT THE FUCKING POINT.

I want so badly to admire Emma Stone. I loved Easy A. Really just adore that movie. But jeezus fuck is she making it impossible. Between this and The Help and how many Woody Allen movies? I'm kinda done. She is not Olive.

What kicks me though is that “Allison Ng,” minor spelling differences aside, is my actual daughter’s name. She happens to be 50% Chinese. Imagine it sure would have been cool for her to see a positive character with HER NAME who was an actual Asian person. Instead it’s the usual “no one looks like me” crap.

“Emma Stone plays a character named “Allison Ng” in the new Cameron Crowe movie Aloha. Her character, who’s supposed to be a quarter Hawaiian and a quarter Chinese“

My style whatever was on the J. Crew and Gap clearance rack 5 years ago and doesn’t have too many bleach stains slash holes in it. Or, has accumulated just the right number of holes that I can start wearing it again.

Keep in mind, we have yet to see any scenes of the White walkers discussing, plotting, planning - these may still come and provide you exactly what you’re looking for. I mean this is the first time we even saw said leadership up close and personal, or, ya know, actually leading.

Apparently my persona is nearing-middle-aged woman who still doesn’t know how to dress her plus size self in anything other than jeans and Old Navy t-shirts. :/ I have hopes of building something like a capsule wardrobe someday though. Anyone successfully do this IRL?
