When movies that aren’t “grim” and “real” and “harrowing” have the problems with pacing this movie had, they get called out on it. But suddenly, when you’re trying to make your audience miserable, there’s no such thing as “pacing” problems anymore because it’s SUPPOSED to be bad. What an irritating and tediously

Why do you visit Deadspin?

Warner Bros’ marketing department is trying way too hard with this stuff...it comes across as defensively begging us to take it seriously — he bought stickers, he sent glitter bombs, he was “crrrrazzzzzzzzzzy!”

(a) “emotinal”

It was difficult and he pulled it off very well. The characters introduced (Phasma aside) were basically flawless and the best part. But I still can’t quite shake the idea that with 4-5 extra lines, suggested by someone who hadn’t seen the post-edits movie before, could have really helped the flow.

Eh, having Chewbacca hug Leia wouldn’t mean that much...and you can reshoot and frame the shot so that only a few people would need to be on set for it. I mean, the guy filmed the actual things being spoiled, I really doubt that filming things that hinted at the spoilers was a big deal.

So we’re only one year away from Brian Scalabrine’s unanimous ticket to the HOF?

...definitely kept expecting someone to say “a connection is made!”

It had good parts of it, but the plot wasn’t one of those good parts — and so the idea that we’re getting not just one but three sequels to continue a plot that no one cares about is a little mystifying.

Remember when South Park wasn’t just the same joke about “PC culture” over and over and over again?

The UFC needs [Rousey] more than she needs the UFC.

This was surely not surprising to anyone.

Regardless of the rivalry, or the game itself, Iowa State is #4 in the country and Iowa is unranked. Storming the court is dumb.

When, relative to UNC’s eventual possession, was the flag thrown? It was before UNC had gotten it — immediately upon the (non-existant) offsides. That sort of ends the conspiracy, I think.

They noticed that Clemson wasn’t Clemsoning, and so they took it upon themselves to do the Clemsoning.

For most referee blunders, in college football and the NFL, my general response is that the rulebook needs to be simplified drastically. Come what may in terms of the need to alter strategy and whatever may happen in terms of gameplay. At least it’d be actual gameplay that determined the winner and not some Magic
