Fuck yeah. It’s Wilco time
Every generation thinks it’s the last.
Not to get all serious in a Funbag comment section, but when reading the letter from the soon-to-be-father: the reality is that the world is better today than it ever has been before. Not a little better, either; it’s a hugely, wildly, amazingly better place than it has ever been before.
The show is dark and full of errors? Ehh????
I think you can hold both ideas (accepting legitimate criticism and also believing it is only a TV show) in your head at the same time. I do. I found the episode once it was over very disappointing but I also thought it was exciting TV and that is enough.
God I hate comments like this. He disliked the episode and listed a bunch of valid reasons why. On a TV blog. And you’re all, “It’s just a show dude calm down LOLZ.” I guess man.
The more I think about it—the more I wish the Night King’s riders had been more of a presence. Like, the hordes of dead were perfect, but I wish Jaime and Brisbane had fought one of the riders. Or Jon could’ve had a few swings at the Night King before Arya finished him off. I guess unlike other folks: the good v. evil…
My biggest issue with how they’ve handled the show since going past the books is how they just hand wave things. Jon dies and is resurrected? Literally never spoken of again, people just sort of shrug and don’t care. Bran is a tree god who can see everything? Nobody really delves into this, they just accept it. Arya…
You will then need to fix the editing, deliberate blurriness, extreme closeups, “I thought they killed you, I guess not”, unwillingness to kill anyone who was on the first team, and poor spatial geography.
You should calm down. It’s just a show, dude.
God what a horrible episode. For me, it ruins the entire series and makes me question whether I should even finish it (I know I fucking will). What a fucking shame, one of the best TV shows ever made has become...this. I’m too fucking tired and pissed off to really give a full breakdown, but just off the top of my…
The episode was a mixed bag for me.
And Arya killing the Night King instead of Jon was a great subversion of expectations.
In Season seven she made it clear she was going to Essos but she would return. I assume she went to Rhi’lor and back. We don’t know what happened to her, but the previous version of her was an overconfident fanatic with some actual magic, while this version seemed to be a real champion of the lord of light.
Oh yah, winter’s coming, dontchaknow. Heckuva deal for us white walkers.
I kind of wish he had a super heavy Minnesotan accent, and I also kind of wish when he killed Theon he would have looked right at the camera and had asked: “Cold enough for ya?”.
So. um. Melisandre huh?
Where’d she come from? She went off to upgrade her powers at Lord of Light University and just showed up on a horse like that??
“Sup guys? So check this out, lift yo swords”... *flames*
“White Walkers HATE her! This one neat dagger trick will end the Long Night”
Remember how good the battle of Hardhome was... because you could see the battle of Hardhome. This was like the golden age of radio.
It looks like this research is an unpublished and unreviewed (meaning by folks who know their shit) undergraduate study that is being promoting via press release from University of Michigan VP of communications. Then copy/paste press release-released via Eurekalert/AAAS who caveats PR press releases like this as such:
